OVERVIEW:
THE PHOENIX has prescribed a series of fitness experiences for adults in recovery to grow and connect with others. Now these experiences will be available online to enjoy remotely, offering a high-quality look and feel so they can be enjoyed and shared with others. We’ll produce 4 videos, covering some of the standard spectrum of users. MOVE YOUR BODY, CROSSFIT, YOGA & MEDITATION.
EXPERIENCE GUIDES: “meet your coach”
The faces of The Phoenix
THE PHOENIX will source 4 different guides as ‘coaches’ for each experience. Fitness and expertise in the experience is a must, as well as strong verbal and welcoming guidance through the duration of the experience. I’m ready to work with The Phoenix on this casting process, showing a diverse and dynamic group that can lead these experiences. In addition to fitness guidance, there may be some welcomed personal detail from the coach about how fitness and community has helped them in sobriety, etc.
look and feel:
The tone and feeling of these videos is the main focus. While the training is key, the most important element is that the viewer feel connected to the experience. Our coach will appear alone, rather than leading an actual in-person class while on camera. Eye contact and statements to viewer throughout, and appropriate mentions of The Phoenix community, and additional ways to connect after the class will be a part of the content. The gym location at Champa will reflect the stable atmosphere of The Phoenix, with logos visible in the background. The lighting will be bright and high-quality, but minimal enough to allow a multi-camera capture. A simple and intimate aesthetic will be enhanced by good audio from our guide. 3 Simultaneous camera angles will feature an eye-contact portrait, wide shot and side angle to highlight the moves and practice being demonstrated.
MUSIC
Songs are a critical choice for any fitness experience, so we’ll use some premium stock tracks from to fit the mood of the video. Well known popular songs and artists will have to be avoided for licensing issues, but the appropriate songs can be selected beforehand if the coach requires a more beat-driven approach to their training experience.
THE SHOOT day
Our 2-person crew will arrive and pre-light the shoot space to make sure it’s ready for production. All sound and cameras will be tested and prepped in the space provided. Each coach will arrive with enough time to prep their looks for camera, and rehearse any performance cues. With the help of a local Hair/Makeup artist and production assistant, the crew will have minimal impact for a focused and intimate atmosphere. Due to Covid-19 concerns, all crew and personnel will wear masks and maintain appropriate distancing. Shooting all four classes will take place in a single 12-hour day for the crew. The following day will allow for the crew to break down all gear, and travel home.

This is certainly not the only approach, but it’s the one that I think is most effective. This will complete all 4 videos, and if a more economical approach is desired, we could do some shoot samples, or not finish the videos just for internal review.
